Topic: C# 4.0 New Language Features

This presentation will cover the new C# 4.0 language features. This demo-heavy session will begin by covering various dynamic scenarios with C# including the new "dynamic" keyword, simplified Reflection, custom dynamic objects, duck typing, Iron Ruby integration, and more. We will also cover named and optional parameters, new COM Interop enhancements, co-variance, and contra-variance. If you are a C# developer, come learn about the new language tools that you can put in your toolbox!

Presenter: Steve Michelotti

Steve Michelotti is a Microsoft ASP.NET MVP and an Architect/Developer for Applied Information Sciences (AIS). He has consulted at Advertising.com/AOL where he was the Tech Lead for one of the highest volume .NET applications in the world. He previously was the Chief Technologist at e.magination. Steve is a frequent presenter at developer user groups and Code Camps along the East Coast and holds the MCSD, MCPD, and MCT certifications. Steve has been on Microsoft Channel9 and his published articles include Visual Studio Magazine and his blog: www.geekswithblogs.net/michelotti.

Call For Speakers – Ends Today - CMAP Code Camp Fall 2009

CMAP is currently looking for speakers for our upcoming CMAP Code Camp Fall 2009 on Saturday, November 7th from 8:30am - 5:30pm. There will 20-25 75 minute sessions, along with several 45 minute sessions during lunch.

We are looking to give our attendees a wide range of session topics.

Looking to get into speaking? Speaking at Code Camp is a great way to get started.

If you are interested in presenting please fill out the form located on our sessions page.  If you have any questions or problems with the form, please send an email to programming[at]cmap-online.org.  Please feel free to submit more than one topic. We would like to limit it to 2 presentations per speaker.

CMAP Code Camp Fall 2009 - Call For Speakers - Friday, October 23rd Deadline

CMAP is currently looking for speakers for our upcoming CMAP Code Camp Fall 2009 on Saturday, November 7th from 8:30am - 5:30pm. There will 20-25 75 minute sessions, along with several 45 minute sessions during lunch.

We are trying to get more jQuery, Ruby, TDD, SQL Server, and Best Practices sessions.

Other possible session topics are .NET 101, .NET 4.0 and VS2010, ALT.NET, Data Access, Business Intelligence, and Sharepoint. If your talk does not fit into one of these, submit it anyway, we'll find a place for it.

Topic: Moving Your Application to Silverlight

In this presentation we will take a look at the basics of Silverlight and how to put it all together to create an application. We will look at the Silverlight controls and layout, blend, navigation, data handling and communication including web services and the entity framework. We will finish with a brief look at styling and theming.

Presenter: John Baird

John Baird began his computer programming career while in the US Navy. In 1982, he helped form and direct the first PC-based computer processing department for training and manpower in the Department of Defense. After leaving the military in 1988, John began a varied career as a consultant developing business applications ranging from computer-based training to vertical market software for resellers.
Today, John is working for the industry leader in financial software for fund administration. John was recently awarded MVP status for device application development.
